Our main area of interest is Literacy in African Schools. We have a good working relationship with Launceston College who give us unwanted text books and surplus stock library books. Together with books and stationery from other local sources, the goods are boxed, palleted and sent off to the charity School-Aid. There they are sorted and packed and sent to five African countries.
We have also been a major partner in the creation of the library in Prudens School, Soweto, where we helped to stock the library, bought the computer and software and trained the librarian.
Once again working with Launceston College we rebuilt the teachers’ accommodation at Bunjakko Vocational High School, Uganda, which had no doors, windows, plumbing or electricity. Now the teachers will stay longer than one term. (See video.)
